The short version of a 50+ year story.

I picked up my first “professional camera” in 1974 with no idea what I was doing. Over the course of a few years, I discovered a way of looking at the world around me that other people seemed to enjoy seeing through my photos. I owe some of this to photographer John Hedgecoe, who (paraphrasing here) said The difference between a photographer and someone who just takes pictures is, you can send them both to the same place and the photographer will return with pictures that the picture taker never even saw. For many years, photography remained a hobby, but after retiring the second time, I became more dedicated to it and now try to get out as often as possible. This is made possible through the patience and indulgence of my lovely wife Brenda.

Much of my work is birds, but I love landscape, wildlife and travel photography as well. I am 71 years old and live near Atlanta, GA. I am a Nikon shooter (Nikon Profession Services member) carrying a Z7II and Z8 Bodies and multiple Z series lenses. When I am not out shooting, I can usually be found playing golf across north Georgia.
